  • Expertise in the conservation-restoration of works of art on paper, manuscripts and historic books and documents; clients include private collectors, art dealers, and institutions such as the University of Oregon, Mills College (Oakland, California), Jay DeFeo Trust, Berkeley California, The Nevada Art Museum, Kaiser San Francisco Medical Center, Wells Fargo History Museum, San Francisco and Bank of America Corporate collection, through Judy Kay and Associates Art Consulting San Francisco
  • Preventive conservation, disaster mitigation and recovery for archives and collections of works of art on paper (prints, drawings, pastels, and watercolors), and paintings
  • Condition surveys provided for works on paper, including the Special Collections of the University of Oregon Library, Mills College Art Museum, Oakland California, Robert Schwartz Estate, San Francisco California, Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society
  • Experience in the conservation of paintings, including a Roy Boynton mural located above the stage in the Littlefield Concert Hall, Mills College, subcontracted by Esherick, Homsey, Dodge and Davis Architecture (EHDD)
  • Project Coordination and management of large conservation projects, including treatment of the mural from the Littlefield Concert Hall, Mills College, subcontracted by Architectural firm Esherick, Homsey, Dodge and Davis of San Francisco, (EHDD)
  • Design, organization and implementation of plans for conservation laboratories, including that of the University of Oregon Library
  • Photography services for the documentation of collections of works of art
  • Skill in matching colors and surface textures of paper and painting fills and design losses, when appropriate
  • Fund-raising for large projects, including the restoration of the historic Fox Theater in Oakland, California; as founding board member of the Friends of the Oakland Fox Theater, (FOOF)
  • Graduate studies in Bookbinding, Papermaking, Printing and typography, Book history, Art history and Music history at Mills College (1989-1990)
  • Studies in Historical book binding structures, Book conservation, Paper making and Preservation planning for collections at the Summer Rare Book School of Columbia University’s School of Library Services (1984 and1989)
  • B.A. in the Conservation of books, manuscripts and works of art on paper, a self–directed practicum in the Robert D. Clark Honors College, University of Oregon (May, 1984). This was conducted under the supervision of Special Collections Librarian Kenneth Duckett, of the University of Oregon Library, known for his pioneering work and publications in the management and care of collections. Early training also included apprenticeship work at Graphic Conservation and at Antique Prints Inc. in Chicago
